Dr. Heidi Ward-McGrath is a director of an award-winning Veterinary practice, a published researcher, and an astute entrepreneur who has developed and is continuing to develop a range of successful natural animal products.
Dr. Heidi prides herself on being an advocate for natural health in animals, pushing the boundaries of surgery with her vast knowledge and experience in orthopaedics and limb-salvage surgery. Along with a passion for clinical nutrition and dermatology, Dr Heidi has migrated towards dealing with pets with intractable allergies and skin conditions. She is also fervent about geriatric medicine and adores seeing old cats get a new ‘lease of life’.
Animal charity work has been another extremely important area for Dr. Heidi; she has always made herself available to work to better the welfare of animals at risk. She has been the Department of Conservation ethics vet for 5 years and has done an enormous amount of rescue and charity work for both the SPCA and local rescue groups. In 2017 Dr. Heidi was selected as the winner of the Kiwibank New Zealander of the year – local heroes medal for her work with Animal welfare.
